Here it is! Our table design for the 2010 Tablescapes and Trends event at the City Club Fort Worth.
We designed our table around the growing trend of bringing personal elements into a design....adding a vintage twist with pages from old books and buttons passed down from generations before. Mixing hand made paper flowers in with fresh flowers gave a unique texture while floral choices added a fresh, modern edge.
The question I get most from brides..."How can I take the things I love and make my wedding unique/unlike anyone elses?" The BEST way is to bring in details that are personal - an old family bible...your grandmothers costume jewels....a cash log used by your grandfather to keep his checkbook (with a little creativity, you can turn it into a guest book!) AND you are totally "green" by using what you already have or reusing items and turning them into something new!
I hope you are inspired...we had such fun with our design this year!
Check out these pictures!
Vintage Suitcases filled with bouquets of flowers...handmade paper flowers tucked in with vintage buttons and striped twine....
Slats from an old bench chipped from layers of paint in several colors look fabulous adorned with scrabble letters for place cards
I love Paper Straws....bakeitpretty.com
(You can also find the striped twine in several colors!)
It made a huge impact to wrap the twine around the bottle heads and the place cards ....subtle but big!
Beautiful hymnal pages made into a rose...slipped in with deep fresh purples and plums
